Merry Christmas!

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

Well, as I write this update, Christmas has come and gone once again!

We spent Christmas eve at Lisa's parent's house. It was lovely!

Pumpkin really loved his new toy.

Lisa took photos as well, and Andrea hammed it up!

I got that crazy-cool game we're so obsessed with at work. Woot!

Andrea made punch with rainbow sherbert!

We had a great night, and went to my Grandmother's house for Christmas day. Upon coming home, we noticed someone had added something to our Christmas decorations!! WTF?!

Yep - a certain Wynning Team conspired and hatched their cunning plan, integrating an inflatable object into our previously kitsch-free digs, in our absence. Brilliant.

Lisa LOVES it. Bahaha.

Coco doesn't know about it yet.

She wouldn't care too much about it either way.

So anyway, we then got our coats back on, and Tom and Jane picked us up for Christmas dinner! I wore my Tabi boots.

We ate a DELICIOUS dinner at the House of Hunan in Annapolis.

Then, we dropped by my mom's house to see the kitten.

All in all, a great Christmas! I hope you guys had a good one too!

ROBOTS

Friday, December 19th, 2008

So Lisa (the best person in the world) got me some Wall-E robots for Christmas. Oooo yes!! So Of course it triggered my Robot Gene™, and I ran to K-B Toys and got a bunch more at 40% off. Redecorate the office for the new year, I always say!

Ann brought in more of her delicious homemade cookies. I ate a "fuckton".

Here I am mid-chew. Playing with a new plug in for Photoshop that mimics old Polaroid film/push processing/grain/fading.

Dangerous filters... very tempting to use everywhere.

You may have noticed a slight tweak to the menu bar up top... added the BSG stuff. It's a new mini-site where I showcase Galactica stuff! As always, eveyrthing needs to be populated a little more... never enough time to do the things I intend to do. My brain runs a little too hot sometimes.

"Herr Unicorn ist Fritz"

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

Today is Bulk Trash Day™ in Parkville, and there was much rejoicing. Well, at any rate, there was some sidewalk shopping going on! Yesterday we got home from work at the usual time, got dinner going, and it was pretty much dark by the time I had lugged our pre-arranged "three item limit" load to the curb. I had arranged to have them pick up a still-functional-but-fucking-enormous-and-really-old Microwave (that came with the house), a broken-before-I-even-tried-to-use-it Weber grill (that came with the house), and a basement-Dehumidifier-that-predates-stainless-steel-so-you-can't-get-it-wet (that came with the goddamn house)! I lugged these heavy metal bits out of the house and from the back yard, in the drizzle... and then we ate dinner. Not two hours later, I glanced outside, and all that was left was the broken grill and the Dehumidifier's water collector. What someone needs a Dehumidifier without the water collector for, I will never know. Also, it runs really loudly and makes the floor underneath extremely hot - that's why I was trashing it! Also, my basement AC unit has a dehumidification function and it's tied to the sump pump for drainage... but anyway, out neighbors are crazy for taking that crap. If I had known that someone would have walked with them, I woudl have never bothered to remember to call the City to arrange for collection. Valuable seconds dialing 311 wasted! Heh.

Exercising at work. Yes, exercising. Me. (wipes tear from eye)

iPhone photo of a Nazi riding a unicorn, as seen by Tom at Barnes and Noble. What can I say, she knows what makes me laugh.

Finished some models... really big models... that Nutrocker is the size of a small dog!

Chicken/red bell pepper/spicy mustard on wheat, dill pickle, French onion soup and smiley medium cheddar cheese.

And we'll end with Coco Missy, sticking out her tongue in defiance of the Christmas cards that now block her view between the railings.

"Oh noes! It is teh Holidays!"

Lisa made a delicious turkey last Saturday... we're still enjoying it (!!).

I took the day off Monday to clean and get stuff done... it rained as I hung the Christmas lights, and then all of a sudden a storybook-surreal rainbow appeared - complete, across the street. It only lasted about two minutes, but was incredibly vibrant.

Especially at the ends!

Later that night I documented my handiwork. I need to get some spare bulbs to replace the duds.

I've gotten good with the tree out front though! A system for hanging the strands (there are a lot of them) that involves the broom!

Coco claimed the tree for herself, as is her annual custom. She also nommed on the bottom "needles" a little, which made a reappearance yesterday, amidst dried clear-cat-vomit (the frothy kind), on the hardwood. Too much information? Heh.

Today I upgraded the fancy schmansy still-very-new MacBook Pro to 4 gigs of ram.

And I cloned the harddrive to a faster 7200 rpm drive...

Which installed easy peasy. The hardest part of all of it? Finding a Torx bit for the damn hard drive mounts.

Hooray for everything!
