This retarded face is for you, KC.

My arm! It's delicious!!

Commander Eaton, out!

Friday, July 2nd, 2004

Today I have off work.

Today I will eat Panera.

Today I will have the chance to do something I dreamed about as a kid.

More later!

Lisa and her sister Andrea came to Annapolis Saturday night to see Jim Gaffigan! We ate at Indias. Murgh Tikka. Word.

Look! Me and Jim!

Andrea and Jim!

My Lisa and Jim!

He was hilarious!!

Of course, I jetted back to Steve's on Sunday to finish some AT-AT components, then back to Annapolis for the 4th picnic!

Jonathan was my hero.

We Eaton boys like the bang bangs.

Assessing the arsenal.

Climbing Panda!!!

Lisa pantomimes the climbing panda! Climb Lisa, climb!

Tom and Jane are amused.

Plum Flower Reports Spring!

Jonathan learns about sparks!

Pretty!

The stroby flashy thingies really blinded the shit out of everyone! Look at the amount of light it threw against the house from across the yard!

Babies like to drink on the Fourth. We saw this on the road to the main event.

The big ones are always beautiful.

The Fourth always reminds me of blowing up toys as a teenager with illegal fireworks, as seen here, in actual footage we shot in the late 80s. Poor Quick Kick. The GI Joes never stand a chance against the explosives.

Look what else was on that tape! The Breeders Safari video that pays homage to Black Sabbath! RAWK!

Wheeee! Jason

So I spent the weekend cleaning, spending time with Lisa, and meeting some of her extended family!

Babies!

We played Scrabble... I almost beat her!! She was NERVOUS!

She only won by four points. Watch out, Lambtron.

Here's my bleary eye, at 2 am.

I used the bathroom mirror for framing the eye shot, and this one too. The ghost image is caused by the thickness of the mirror's glass.

Here's KC after work on his way down to the car.

But wait! We were hornswaggled into toting plastic bins to the parking lot... that were half-filled with fetid water. The kind that smells like sewage.

Delicious!

Working on the 4th and 5th X-Wings again...

Wheee!

See if you can't lock it down.... increase speed, full throttle.

Hey gang! I got a Bible from 1877 in the mail on Friday for a project... more on that when I have something fun to show.

After work, I found a dead vole (?) in the back yard. Almost hit the poor fella with my scooter. Gross!

Lisa came over, and we headed up to Baltimore to see A Fish Called Wanda projected on the side of a building in Little Italy. We were invited by John and Michele - it was great fun!

Check out the camera that guy had! This is the balcony that projects the film... a seperate camera I imagine. The Wanda print was definately not video, as the gate fluttered a bit at one point. Very cool of the community to do this!

Lambtron! Happy! I will bring you a salad! Then I will go back to get our forks that they forgot! And more napkins! Yay!

John and Michele! They're gonna get married too, awwwww.

This is where the action was.

We want Chilly Willy! We want Chilly Willy!

Kinda hard to see as it was night time, and clear across the way, but a kitty in a window was watching too!

Afterwards the crowd dispersed. It was great fun! Thanks to John and Michele for the invite!!

Here's a pretty star in Little Italy as we walked back to the car.

Today Lisa and I saw Anchorman - it was great! Tomorrow I have to get up at five am to go to Richmond VA. Dave, Jenn, Crystal, and KC join me, so it sould be fun! I won't be back home until Tuesday night, but the Sheraton West has wireless, so I hope to be able to update and stay on top of everything. So to Tom, Jane, Dallas, Jennifer, Tom, Jordan, Art, Jon, etc - see you all on IM on Wednesday, hehehe.

Oh - one more thing! I found some great songs from a link on rilokiley.net by Shelma. I have no idea who she is, but it totally made me go back and listen to all the stuff I recorded 10 years ago... sigh. I miss those days. So in honor of my old recordings, warbly voice and bad guitarwork and all, I've updated my sounds link up top. Check them out - they are hilarious and terrifying. and go listen to Shelma's songs too.

Well, I'm in Richmond VA, for work. It has been a very exciting day however, because Dave, Jenn, KC, and Crystal have come along for the ride! And speaking of rides...

KC posing with his faux pimped out Triumph.

We had a great day travelling through our shot sheets, seeing the sights. After we finished, we went to Morton's for dinner, spent $500 on food and drinks (I was very un-like myself had a Makers Mark Manhattan, red wine, Amaretto Sour, and some good-ass Amaretto coffee). We got drunk and then we swam in the Sheraton pool until midnight. Yes, I did too. Peer pressure is a bitch. Here's the first batch of photos - and be aware, we were in an ancient cemetary AND an art gallery, so this is a mondo update. I LOVE these pics...

The Richmond skyline. We had rain... and pockets of sun.

My intentional "stupid face" to compliment the fact that I'm using a gravestone to steady my camera work. Going to hell.

I love this statue.

So textural.

And gestural. It makes me want to sculpt... which I will be doing next week!

India Land™ - Lisa needs to come here and see it. :)

I have many new ideas for the home decor for next year. Thanks Ganesha!

I love this stuff too.

And these.

And even this.

Hell, the ceiling that housed a reliquary was awesome!

And the Egyptian section was nice.

The largest Fabergé selection resides here, outside of Russia.

But nothing prepared me for the world's second largest collection of Art Nouveau (the first being Paris, naturally)...

There is something about Art Nouveau that makes me all tingly inside. I adore it, and seeing all these pieces (most of which I recognize from books I own) really rekindled my spark.

Wouldn't you die for a fireplace mantle like this?

Or this in your home? Good god it's amazing!

Mark my words, I will make a bed of this quality before I die.

And a matching vanity for Lisa, in this vein... with pomegranates in the panes for her.

Dance, my beauties!

Shiny. I wanted to lick it.

This face will be my springboard when I resculpt a seraphim for some people this Fall.

Sadly, I will not be sitting in a chair like this while I work.

A peacock-themed lamp for Lisa! YEAH!

Awww. Indian man and woman.

The Nouvea stuff is decades away from practical use or construction, but the easier to build Indian design elements will be done in the next few years... stuff like this!

This is an oil painting from last year... I also love it. Reminds me a little bit of Melora - Dallas, you reading this?

Okay, here's the Japanese garden from a park we shot footage of. This picture below looks totally fake, like a painting. The light was shifting wildly because a storm front was moving in, and I snapped this at what was probably the most opportune moment!! Isn't it amazing?

You cross the footbridge and can then climb the rocks to the right of the three story waterfall. So we did.

Here's the view from below.

About halfway up, looking behind me.

At the top and over a short lawn, we discovered insane gardens...

And above that, the mansion-house-whatever. I am exhausted... more tomorrow!

Good night, everyone!

11 pm, and I'm ready for bed... another day of fun and work, but here's the rest of last night! KC enjoying an oyster...

Then he decided to get ready for the rest of the night:

Here's your gang:

Okay. On the way to dinner, we VAPORIZED a bird. Dave was going 75 or so, as we were exiting a ramp and entering the highway. A bird was up ahead, and like a million other times, we all thought "he will move..." and he did - but a little too late. Dave couldn't have swerved, as he'd have killed us, so it was out of our control. We SCREAMED. I was in the front - front row seat. We felt the THUD, and Dave said "I looked in the rear view, and saw a puff of feathers". I took a pic... and it wasn't until I looked at it on the computer that I realized you can see the ENTIRE BIRD in silhouette!! Those three feathers are the breast area, and you can see the wing arc over the bumper. GROSS!!

Here's the pool. KC jumped from the top!

This morning, we saw a poor stuffed bear in a garbage truck, hiding behind the broom handles.

Here's a shot of the Jefferson Hotel's lobby.

Here's the gorgeous ceiling.

And the statue of Jefferson!

Bathroom shot for Jane!

Another one from the mirror...

Ooooo, window washers!

So then something hilarious happened. KC and I were setting up the camera and tripod, just as a girl walked out of a storefront about 5 doors up from us on the sidewalk. She made a beeline for us, and proceeded to flirt like CRAZY with me. This pic may look incriminating, but he was just rolling tape and she walked right up to the camera, which was apparently at boob-level.

Exhibit A - flirty-girl rack.

She mainly asked questions about the camera, and what she should buy, blah blah blah. Jenn said I blushed. I am sure I did. Lisa thinks this is all terribly cute, by the way. Har. I hate that I blush when cornered by strange horny girls. Must be my natural defense mechanism... hehe.

We didn't get a good shot of her (as you know, we were working), but here's another video excerpt - it was in motion, so it's blurry. So anyway, she asked some questions, and I was polite, thinking "we gotta get these shots - go away" and "goddamn, is she serious? hahha, too funny!". Once I said "we need to get this other shot" she just said "okay, bye!" and walked on... weird! Must have gotten the hint.

KC zoomed on her as she walked away. Heheh. I could have sworn I was too pudgy at the moment to attract interest. Hahahaa. It was nice to be flirted with, but she didn't have a chance. I am engaged, wheeeee!!!

Okay. Then KC, Crystal, and Jenn left for home, and Dave and I went to Hopewell. By god, Dave and I were freaking. There was nothing there.

They make water there!

Right next door to the FACTORIES!

We said "awwwww, Smurf it".

All the schools were closed... and boarded up.

There was some pretty waterfront stuff there.

AND, a PIG WITH A BELT ON A LEASH!!

I leave you with a pretty pic I took. Good night!

Tuesday, July 20th, 2004

I am home.... had a lotta fun with the Production Crew! I learned new words, like "whips!" means "hey - check out those rad rims on that car". Even better, the ultimate pick up line... ask me in person, as it needs to be heard spoken aloud as opposed to written.

Dave and I saw guns galore from the Confederacy!

A repeating rifle... mama like.

Great detail on the stock.

Also saw Charles Lindburgh's personal effects from his Spirit of St. Louis flight! All sorts of awesome stuff.

Great hat, Chuck!

Dave and I also stopped off at a smelly ass Asian food market and he grabbed some cool fresh ingredients. I wasn't terribly excited to smell rotting fish, but I did see some cute Sanrio-esque Panda packaging.

We then went to a few more Richmond "outskirty towns"...

They do so love their War of Northern Agression monuments, eeeek.

Here's one of our advertisers. No, it's not Leatherface's house.

Come see! The river of mud! It will! Leave you wanting Annapolis!

So I'm home. A video shoot tomorrow morning, and then, it's into the breach with all this awesome Richmond footage.

Wuv, Jason

Hey gang! A dark day in my life occured this week...

Yes - the iPod hard drive died. I kept everything on her too - this website, Roboterkampf, Baby Eaton, music, dvd files, etc. Luckily I perform a religious backup, and experienced ZERO data loss. But now I have to eBay a few things to bankroll a new one so that it does not come out of the budget. Bah!

In happier news, the Darth Vader armor arrived - from the original 1976 molds no less, in fiberglass! The stuff is HUGE!

Here's Jenn modelling the dome.

Lisa, Tom, and Jane and I are going to see Spiderman II in an hour and a half, so I better scoot! But before I go, here's my Simon Kitty sporting a beanie that Jonathan has... can you feel the pathos?!?

He was maaaaaaaad.

Sunday, July 25th, 2004

What a nice weekend!

To backtrack for a moment, here's Jenn wearing "Bacon Earrings".

And Marie with a festive hat. Friday was goofy!

I drew on the dry wipe board. Then, Saturday Tom, Jane, Lisa, and I saw Spiderman. We were all impressed with it - I do believe it was better than the original! Added bonus - a Mazda3 Hatchback in the parking lot!

I'm kinda liking that Titanuim Gray color more and more... hmmm...

Miss Lisa wore a sassy piercing on her nose! Heeeeee.

And what's an update without a Jane picture! Hi Jaaaaane!

Lisa was sleepy later that nite.

We had a nice relaxed Sunday day, and watched Signs... can you believe I've never seen that movie? I think we're all going to see The Village on Friday. I did a little work today too - a deadline looms on Tuesday!!

Before/after dinner, I finished painting the first of two X-Wings I am working on. Now all I have to do is weather the pieces and wire all the lights to the wings... this one may be the best one yet!

Finally, I watched Six Feet Under (which thankfully was not nearly as "fucked up" as last weeks episode) and the amazingly wonderful Dead Like Me. Wow, such a good show.

Oooh! And my new iPod has shipped! I should have the new appendage by the end of the week! What should I name her? Th eold one was Charlotte... but I feel like giving her a new name. IM me your suggestions - my IM is "moffeaton".

Song on iTunes? "Brand New Colony" by the Postal Service.

I need another prop party... can you spot the prop in this pic?

Thursday, July 29th, 2004

I have full functionality again! Say hello to the new iPod, which I christened Madeline. She has all the web stuff loaded on her, and the usual rotating playlists. I got the 40 gigger... now, if only they could release a 194gig iPod, I could take all my music with me. One day, Jason, one day.

Some people have complained about the new "periwinkle" backlight, but I kinda like it. I liked the backlit red buttons on my old iPod, but I am so in love with the click wheel that it's just a fading memory.

Does this engraving seem fun, or narcissistic?

Lisa and I went for a nice walk yesterday evening, and the camera hitched a ride, as usual.

Lisa was adorable.

Then for some weird reason I decided to spin around really fast and take a picture, so the background would have a nice blur. Fun.
