Heya gang! Had a great weekend with Lisa, and Tom and Jane. We went to the Renaissance Festival! Like a doofus, I forgot my camera. That aside, it felt sooo good to be able to relax, and spend time with my lovely Lisa. I truly feel lucky to have found her.

Again, to backtrack, here are a few work shots from my first week™ on the job:

Here is my building.

Across from my building is the visitors lot. You would think parking could be that easy? Nooo. Turn left with me for the 20 minute walk to the car.

Hello Jane! We walk to Tom's building, which is beyond the buildings above and to the left. That's the hospital, interconnected with a breezeway.

Here we are at Tom 's - he's walking to greet us! Turn right - and dead ahead:

The old coal plant. We cut behind this to get to our lot. Yes, really.

We walk between the cool pressurized gasses. Cool, you say?

Apparently they are freezing! Haha.

Then the power substation... THEN our lot. I actually don't mind at the moment, as it's giving me some much needed exercise right now.

Also, I wanted to share what I was behind this morning. This guy has a chromed skull over his hitch with eyes that LIGHT UP RED when the brake pedal is pressed! Wow!

Song on iTunes? "ABBA on the Jukebox" by Trembling Blue Stars.

Yesterday on the way to the cars, Jane modelled Tom's Dad's helmet. First we have Fonz Jane™

Followed by Jane on Imaginary Bike™

And last but not least, Mentally Retarded Jane™

Heeeee. Yesterday was a delightful evening in the company of Lisa! We had Boston Market. Yum. Salt. Here she is before we left for work this morning - how cute!!! I am lucky.

So do you guys want to see some video screencaps from my past? I'm compiling pics in a mad push to finish that Choose Your Own Adventure that you see to your left... It will be BIG!

My old living room:

My old Star Wars toys:

Me being attacked by little windows:

And the kitty that was cruely taken by my ex:

I miss you, Sebastian. Hug your kitties extra tight tonight, xoxox.

Tonight I will work on restoring a real prototype "Jabba's Sail Barge" mechanism from 1982 for a friend. How rad is that?

It is Friday! I get to sleep in tomorrow! Last week I seem to have exacerbated my carpal tunnel, or maybe I have a little tendonitis. All I know is that I spent an intensive couple of weeks painting, and I think I messed my hand up. It's a lot better today than it was Sunday, but it is still disconcerting to come face to face with the fact that I'm aging. Bah.

In other news, Jonathan and Partick are wrapping up a short film where Jonathan, addicted to chocolate, in fact becomes chocolate. So in the end, he's leaving Hershey syrup footprints, etc. Of course, I took one look at him in makeup and said "you're going to get beaten up by someone mistaking your intentions"... so we all nervously laughed and he made gang signs.

Shades of C. Thomas Howell!

And lastly, here are pics of the MaK Scout Flier in progress:

There is a baby shower for Crissy and Anthony tomorrow - pics to come!

Song on iTunes? "Josephine (live 6.7.97 in DC)" by The Magnetic Fields. "I'd write some science fiction... science fiction about youuuuuuuuu"

Heya gang! I am an UNCLE! Baby Maren, a beautiful girl, was born to by brother Anthony and Crissy last Friday night. She's a little early, and logging some quality time in the NICU. They hope to have her home this weekend!

In other news, Jonathan and I saw Rilo Kiley and Tilly and the Wall at the Black Cat in DC this past Sunday.

Tilly and the Wall, tapping their way into our hearts.

Jenny from Rilo, with the horn player to her left.

Blake, mid-sing!

They even had a Cellist!! WOOO! I am a sucker for cello.

Here's some video I took with my 'lil Optio:

Tilly and the Wall - Reckless

Tilly and the Wall - Fell Down the Stairs

Rilo Kiley - A Better Son/Daughter

Rilo Kiley - Such Great Heights (Postal Service cover!!)

Monday I had off, but Lisa was in the office, so I had lunch with her at the Parthenon in Annapolis. She is knitting a scarf for me!

Life sure gets busy fast sometimes, eh? I'm exceptionally busy at work this week, so I may be sporadic for another couple of days. In the meantime, here's a recap from the weekend.

Jonathan did a dramatic reading at a local bookstore!

Lisa and I had a wonderful date! We went to a Greek restaurant in Baltimore... delightful.

Ten kinds of lamb... which one do you pick?!

In what was the most adorable fake-moment ever, Lisa noticed how an errant piece of styrofoam on the floor looked like Simon's missing paw (as it was tucked under). He was TRICKING US!

Then she beat me at Scrabble, reclaiming her title. You see kids, i finally beat her. Above is the board I "tiled" to victory. Pics to follow of the latest game...

Finally, Jon Machen brought his son Nicholas by - he is amazingly adorable, and incredibly smart. The kid counts to THIRTY both forwards and back and is just a two year old. Woah.

Is my poster ready?!?!?

Ah Halloween... How I love thee. Brad at work prepares his Shaun of the Dead costume.

Lisa and I went to visit Baby Maren and Crissy on Sunday. I got to play with the cool space blanket that combats jaundice!

And Lisa got to feed her!!! Go to Baby Eaton for more pics.

Here's a candid of Simon, caught in the act! Yes, he's a closet lap cat. Can you believe it? He looks aghast, being caught mid-purr.

Love, Jason
