Storm of the ... month?
Tuesday, March 1st, 2005

We got some snow on Monday... it was enough to close work! I am pretty much past the worst of my sickness. Jane and Tom were hit really hard, so I feel particularly lucky.

I spent the entire day finishing a Blade Runner blaster for my friend Scott. I'm plowing through all this back-log, and it feels great! Lisa and I are going to speak face to face with the finance guy in the next week or so, with an eye on being in a new home in May. So I have a goal to work toward, time-wise, with getting these projects out the door. I'd really hate to pack away half-finished resin guns... another freelance job lumbers into my life this week, so it'll eat up a good portion of the first half of this month. Wheee! Busy bee.

Heavy snow, weighing down the bushes and branches. It's pretty.

An unretouched photo - it looked that blue!

I've discovered how amazing Invader Zim is. It's a cartoon from Nickelodeon that was cancelled a few years back, but man is it good. It must have hit me at a time when I wasn't paying attention to tv that much... not that I watch a ton now either, but there were a few years when I just sort of staggered through life.

These days, everything seems bright and shiny and wonderful. I'm in love, I have amazing friends, I adore my Fiancé, my job, and my hobbies... and I got to do things recently that I used to DREAM about when I was a kid. Plus, Invader Zim.

2 Years!
Monday, March 14th, 2005

Saturday, Lisa and I celebrated our two year anniversary. I can very honestly say it has been the best two years of my life! We had a wonderful dinner at the Helmand in Baltimore, and then went to see Bride and Prejudice.

Here we see Lisa making her "I am very cold" face, as we waited for the Helmand's doors to open. I made reservations at 5, and that's when they open, so we spent a good half hour in a chilly stoop on Charles Street. Still, it was a wonderful day.

Tonight we have our Mortgage Broker meeting, where we vomit and hand over some W2s and paystubs. We're looking at buying in the Baltimore Parkville area, since we can get a 3-4 bedroom single family home with 2 bathrooms and a basement, instead of a dinky-ass condo or townhouse in Annapolis. Bling!

Just Spinnin'

Rainy days at the office make everyone sleepy and weird. Here is Jane in a "rainy day mood" and me, carefully holding still with camera in hand as I spin around my office in my chair.

I am published!
Friday, March 25th, 2005

My very first magazine article has been published! Six pages in Super 7 Magazine! Go buy it now, and then tell me how awesome it is.

In other news, Scott Brodeen sent me a Nautilus!! Best five dollars I ever spent! (note - monetary amount might not reflect actual amount sent, and has been changed to make Lambtron feel better). I will hopefully start building it shortly after we move into a house. For now, I am very happy to know I scored a cast from the master himself, and not a repop with soft detail that pirates off his hard work!

Simon is disturbingly happy to see me come home from work lately. I've noticed as he grows older, he becomes more of a lap cat than ever before. He's 8 years old, and suddenly, out of the blue, loves to lay on me as soon as I sit or lay down. This was taken when I had just gotten home from work. I threw everything on the bed, laid back for a moment, and he immediately jumped up and did the whole "snuggle up to my arm" thing that he does. He also chose to stay on Lisa's lap for over an hour, completely limp and puuring like a chainsaw, which delighted her to no end. He's a peach.
