Ho ho whore!

When I'm not wasting my time by being distracted by talentless jealous internet doofs, I'm adding lights, sound, and motors into submarines.

Lisa and I went to her company's Christmas party this weekend... I had a delighful Manhattan that was made with four different kinds of liquor - I wasn't paying attention, but it was smooth. I want another one.

Before we left, Lisa did her impersonation of the woman you see in the vacuum's instruction manual.

She wants you all to know that the Eureka Boss is so elegant that it is only fitting for you to wear your finest when operating said machinery.

Is this domestic bliss? (I'm not qualified to answer, but check out the Training Remote do it's thang when hit with a camera flash!)

Wanting to get in on the elegant domesticity, I sprang into action in my best suit.

While pumping gas, Lisa played with the camera. Adorable!

We arrived at the club and played some pool. She annihilated me.

What would a men's club be without a Playboy or three in the bathroom? Hi Jane!

The view from the staircase was pretty. Annapolis may be chock full of asshole boaters and self-centered yuppies in khakis and their bottle blond frigid wives, but it sure is pretty in December.

The entertainment at the party was a magician - of course Lisa was called to volunteer - yes! Photo op!

She truly IS magic. Today the HD DVR gets installed and Han in Carbo arrives.

My Han in Carbonite arrived yesterday! Having spent some time with the real one, I can say that the IC replica from the 1990s is not cast off the original - the head seems sourced from the Ford lifecast, but the hands/body aren't acreen accurate. Then again, my project won't be either, so it's perfectly aceeptable. It looks amazing. Pictures soon.

Lisa and I were watching TV last night and about halfway through the show, Lisa realized we too were being watched.

Simon has found a new fort.

We got our first "WINTERSTORM8000™" event last night... yeah, a light snow. The news makes it sound like hellfire and brimstone, but it was very benign and pretty. SInce we've only briefly been in our house, everything seems romantic and cozy. The romantic $2,000 tree bill that looms, the cozy tax bill... heh.

Speaking of the hollow tree, the backyard looks great with a light snowfall, too.

Tonight I'm going to start sanding seams on the Nautilus and mentally prepare for rivet replacement. It's looking fantastic, and I will soon accept delivery of this beast: 5.5' Nautilus. Lisa has tentatively agreed that it should go in the front room, as she loves this sub as much as I do. That could change, but it will still have a prominent place, just by it's sheer size! I clear my commission backlog this Winter, so I'll be able to work on the Naut in the Spring.

Last week my car was on the news (helicopter footage, too!)... while I sat 10 cars back from the entire 45 minute closure of Northbound 95. BIIG accident. 95 sucks - you hear me city law people? Get a clue and figure out your shitty traffic-flow woes that occur when impatient fucktards cut people off in the 695-only lane. That is what caused THIS accident, I can guarantee... they fly down the second-to-leftmost lane and at the last possible second force themselves into the Towson exit lane, which only makes people slam on their brakes and makes the lane go slower and thus more dangerous. Build something that can handle the mass flow of cars that travel to the last few places where people can afford homes. Asshats. When you're an asshole driver and you get in a wreck, you should have to wait for treatment in a fast food lane behind the Fatty McSnacks fella who wants some convoluted no-pickle-extra-glutin-hold-the-sorbitol #7 Extra-biggie fuckface meal. You know the kind... where they make you wait twice as long for the transaction to complete because they don't understand English to begin with, and then even after you get your food, you have to pull forward and navigate around his huge car that had to pull up into the lane of shame™ to wait for his gluttonous special order. GAH!

In other news, Captain Solo is out of the cargo hold and now lives on the back door. Good news! All that expanding foam not only provides a base for seamless spackling, but also will cut down on the horrendous BGE bill we received yesterday - $453. Yowza.

You can see him from the front of the house. In completely and spontaneous unrelated news, this just in: I love Lisa.

Christmas time is almost here, and the postman hates us. Why bother with the mall full of fatties and Juicy©-clad 14 year old whores when I can click my way to an obligation-free holiday! I am almost done shopping.

And the Nautilus is ready for final paint!

Let's go sexin!

I recently got around to seeing "A Dirty Shame" by John Waters. The Park and Pay was one of the locations in the film... and I live a few blocks away! To double check my memory, I took screengrabs and then checked them against a few hurried pictures I took from my car this morning as I drove to work.

Still from the film.

My early morning drive by. The planters are still there - no trees. I think the two trees to the far right, in the film, hid a wall-mounted pay phone. Notice that there is an old-style phonebooth in the film still.

Waters said that he had that silly "BELIEVE" billboard digitally inserted... it's some beer ad at the moment (partially obscured in my photo below, by the large freestanding signage). The curb takes a weird dip too - matches up.

Fun!

And lastly, you can see the same paint discoloration that the "R" in "BONER" writes over, in the film still. Matches up to the wall as it stands today.

END TRANSMISSION!

4AD? Never heard of it. ;)

My friend Tom has a laser cutter in his formidable arsenal of tools, so I'm designing new signage for the house. The numbers will be cut from black and white acrylic sheet, with the white glued to the black.

The lettering will extend beyond the number box and will be mounted to the house so that they float about a quarter inch off the shingles. This allows them to clear the shingles themselves, and will create badass shadows. I will have to mount the dot in the "I" to a brass rod (which I will color match to the shingles)... TREMBLE BEFORE MY DESIGN PROWESS. Heh.

We have two Christmas parties this weekend - and one of them is the offical Christmas party with Anthony, Crissy, and Maren who are visiting from Texas!

Lisa made a beautiful wreath for our door - winter theme!

I got an all metal Rocketeer Helmet yesterday!

The lines are clean, there are no blemishes, and the the lenses are flawless.

While technically inaccurate to the screen used helmets, I can say that this idealized version is gorgeous.

Thumbs up from Nakatomi Plaza!

I also reconfigured the wiring in a Cylon Raider I'm building, so that the yellow LEDs are brighter.

And the MagLight assemblies inside the engine bays mimic the intense halogen bulbs that the screen used ships had, but with no heat.

It throws the light out pretty far - poor Han Solo is blinded!

Got some Palisades stuff to show off! Here's the huge (over a foot tall) Alien Warrior statue that I helped provide reference material for, ages ago. He should be blue grey though. I'll repaint him.

Here's the full set of Die Hard Palz - cute little block guys... and the whole movie is pretty much represented. Just wish there had been a Mr. Takagi. I did the sculpts for Season 3 of the Buffy line.

Some silly Zim stuff - these keep people at work smiling.

I also received some 1/24th sculpts of TOS BSG pilots for the models I'm making. Sculpted by Edylhandz!

Standing Sheba, who can pose next to the Viper.

Male pilot body, with clear resin helmet. Now I can embed a small led in the head, and paint around the helmet lightbars - instant micro lighting!

Boomer!

Apollo!

And the lovable womanizer we allfeel a little silly for liking - Starbuck.

More on the heads later!

Merry Christmas

Back at work! Boooo.

We had a great Christmas weekend...

Did the work lunch at James Joyce in Baltimore on Friday.

Brad illustrates how long we wait for food. They were slooooow.

Jane played with Tom's spiffy new camera.

We then spent Christmas eve with Lisa's family, Christmas day with my family, and Christmas night at the Chinese Buffet with Tom and Jane!

We had an excellent weekend!

You can just about see where Tom is cracking up under the barrage of silly Jane.

Yesterday we went to Lisa's parent's Holiday Party, which was also delightful. All in all, a very happy holiday!

Tonight we will clean the house, though I hope to take on the lion's share, because my friends from out of state are coming over to nerd out. I finished a Viper for Steve:

Apollo - an excellent likeness.

My friend Jesse had these figure sculpts commissioned.

The detailing and accuracy are excellent.

Even the "cartridges" on the belt are represented.

Here's a shot of the whole thing - better studio pics tonight.

Also added a fresh battery to my raygun:

That's all for now!
