Hello Burbank!
Wednesday, February 1st, 2006

We flew from San Fran to LA this evening. But not in the whale plane.

Pretty on descent.

Creature from the Black Lagoon!

Vampire! I LOVED this...
See ya later, LA

Well I am home, still jetlagged, and busy as "crap"! SO wonderful to come home to Miss Lisa and the fuzzy piggies. I love my family, house, and stuff. Added a new link in the special section to your left - check it out!!
Today is a Decemberists day. "Eli, The Barrowboy" on iTunes.
Ich werde im Schnee bedeckt
Monday, February 13th, 2006

Saturday night, around midnight, with the snow falling.

The front, same deal.

We awoke (deliciously late in the day) to find a lot of snowfall - our first official signifigant snowfall in our new home! MAJOR THANKS ot the neighbors across the street who came by with their snow blower, saving my back and hours of my Sunday.

Our house looks cute!

That's me without a shower after shovelling around cars and the front porch for an hour. I look haggard, hehe.

Neighborhood looks cute, too!
Yay, snow!
Haircut 100
Friday, February 17th, 2006

I got a haircut yesterday - I love that feeling of newness :)
This weekend is a 3 day weekend, so I'm really looking forward to getting some pending projects done. I received a care package of epic proportions from Adam yesterday, and Lisa was all excited until she saw it was just movie props, hehe. She did like the box a lot though.
We're going to go to World Market tomorrow with the Wynns, and I'll see if I can score some new set dressings for the loverly home. I have some stuff that I'm hoping to find... wish me luck!

I'm making peace with the fact that I have to retire my favorite every-day-shoes, the leather Clarkes. These were purchased the week after I ended the unpleasantness with Hester Prynne in 2001, at Towson Town Center. I went there with my friend Melissa, and I bought these shoes and the brand new first gen iPod - a 5 gig BRICK! I also mail ordered my Bacco Bucci bowling boots that week too. Typical that I reacted to a cheating wife by buying two pairs of nice shoes. Anywhoo, the Clarkes have always been incredibly comfortable, but the soles are hole-y now, and the tops are pretty ratty.
It's time. Sniff.
World Market
Tuesday, February 21st, 2006
Lisa and I went with the Wynns to Pearl and World Market in Silver Spring over the weekend! We had a blast and ate at PF Changs - mmmm.

But we also waited FOREVER for this crazy bitch who decided to organize her entire car while we sat with our blinker on. Gonna get Egg Shen to put the whammy on her ass. "You will come out no more!!"

Ginger snap peas loved us long time.

Jason floats in a sea of red at Pearl Paint. GOD how I miss art supply stores. The rest of the weekend was spent cleaning, grocery shopping, doing homework, and painting guns, helmets, and replica grenades from the 1933 King Kong film:

Like the original, this was made of wood.

Later that evening, I was ready for the ape.

This afternoon is filled with Belly music. I feel like Tanya Donelly never quite got the success she deserved. Anyway, I made a poster for work today, using some old WWII poster art. Graphic Designers will get the joke:

Here it lives in our office:

Also adding some much needed info to Roboterkampf... and still trying to ID some of the more esoteric designs from MaK:

Any clues? I love this suit.
Lisa is home already, and bellydance was cancelled for the week, so we'll have extra time to dig deeper into Millenium Season 1, which is our way of mourning during these difficult times, post season 5 of Angel. We had to have something to watch - it was just too upsetting to deal with the lack of the Buffyverse in the house, and after a year of 12 box sets-worth... Sigh!
Secret shame
Monday, February 27th, 2006

Me at 2:30am, watching paint dry... literally.
So bored out of my gourd, I thought about my Secret Shame™... the unbuilt kits I have. This isn't even talking about the lifesize Threepio, Rocketpack, Proton Pack, or Martian War Machine either... I'm talking model kits and resin props that I have let pile up while I've been busy in commission-land. Join me won't you?

The Maschinen Krieger collection, which is stacked about 5 feet high, two kits deep (there is a row behind these). Terrifying, and I'm aching to get to them.

More MaK, the 1/72nd submarine, and all the plane kits (below - you can kinds see them a little...)

And the drawers full of props. TOS Trek, Lost in Space, Equilibrium, Blade Runner (PKD 1, 2, and casts of real parts), V, and about 5 OT Star Wars blasters. That Tricorder below is getting converted into the Geological version - should be a seamless conversion.
So that's a preview of what you'll see eventually, on Roboterkampf.
