Happy New Year!

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Hiya gang, cheers to a happy, healthy, safe, and prosperous 2008. We rang it in with Tom and Jane!

Sure enough, at the stroke of midnight, the entire neighborhood erupted into a mess of fireworks, screaming kids, banging pots/pans, and music. Click here for a short QuickTime of the Midnight Cacaphony™! The fireworks lasted until about 1am, slowely tapering off from the initial "HAPPYFUCKINNEWYEARZ!" experience. Of course, it also tapered on, since we've been hearing what must have been test mortars and firecrackers for a few weeks now, every other night. The music and DJ from the very loud block party down the street was still going at 2:30am, when I finally went to bed. Good times.

So the next morning we had plans to eat noodles at Noodles & Company, which we have never been to before, but people rave about. Lisa and I like the idea of ringing in the New Year with noodles (for luck), as some Japanese do. It was closed!! Lisa was crushed... maybe we can hit it on Friday. So to mitigate the disappointment, I made a small handful of symbolic noodles with dinner.

And then for a silly fake Asian looking dessert, banana, coffee liquer, chocolate syrup, cherries, and sprinkles.

Blurry!

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

So I had my annual eye exam this morning, and they gave me the drops that dialate my eyes. Jane said I looked like her cat Virgil, but I couldn't see for myself until about three pm. I took a pic to see once the irises closed down enough:

Hilarious!

Moving into the new building

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

My old desk in the old building, as of Friday afternoon. Everything ready to go!

The hallway, ready to move!

Flash forward to Thursday afternoon! Our office has moved into the new building, and we're deep into setting everything up!

Here's the spread so far.

My junk, sorting sorting sorting...

Aaron's area!

Oh Doug, why so cluttered?!

Jimmy likes the scary movies.

Meanwhile, back at home:

All settled

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I'm all settled at my desk now, much like a cat toy sitting at an Invader Zim accessory.

Meanwhile at home, the cats are off being bad.

And tonight with any luck, I will finish one fo the Time Machine models! Click here to see it work!
