Lawn

Friday, August 1st, 2008

This is for Lisa - me in a thobe, NE833, Saudia City, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 1980.

Instead of being at Tokyo Big Sight this weekend, I'll be mowing the lawn. Sigh. I'll probably be just as sweaty!

Have fun my Ma.K. friends!!

TREASURE!

So what do my eyes spy on our front porch, after work today? BOXES FROM JAPAN!

I was so excited... even though I look very serious in this photo, haha.

Stuff for all of the IHYSC MaK Children!

It is an avalanche of items, courtesy of TaK, Futch, Goto-san, and many skilled artisans!

So much to go through, I'm not done yet, and it's bedtime now.

I took a couple minutes out of the evening to play with my big toy - the massive 1/20th Nutrocker.

This would not have been possible without the help of Masa - THANK YOU!! While Lisa and I enjoyed the first episode of Season 7 of Star Trek the Next Generation (we are almost done the whole series!), I glued the hull halves together. I will shore it up from the bottom, tomorrow.

That's what she said! (pow!)

Mocha flavored M&Ms. This is one serving - 2oz. We are being smarter about food these days, and limiting our selves when the bad stuff is consumed. These were amazing.

NUTROCKER! WOOO!

<end transmission>

Loooong weekend

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

So I have the next four days off, which I am going to use to try to get as much done on some commission work as I possibly can. So far so good - I spent all day puttying and sanding! I'm really looking forward to working on my studio scale AT-ST too... the metal armature came in!

We also got beautiful presents in the mail from our friends in Japan! Masa's family sent this beautiful box of candy!

And a lovely card with letters. Lisa said it is the most beautiful card she has ever seen, and I'll have to get a picture of it soon!

The Yokoyamas send Lisa a Ponyo toy! Ponyo Ponyo Ponyo sakana no ko!

Behold the cat paw key topper!

Going to try to get up early tomorrow.... on a Sunday?! Gasp!
