Summer's end

Heya gang! Here I am at work, looking a little bleary-eyed. We had a leak in our roof over the weekend with all of the hurricane aftermath hitting our State. It was nothing terrible but enough to call someone to assess the shingle situation. So I'm in a state of "I hope it's not something expensive to fix!"

I installed the "killer app" for Lisa, as she gets the iPod Touch when I switch to the iPhone. One more month and then it's "so long" Verizon.

Taking iTunes 8 for a stroll. So far so good.

This is one of those "I love the people I work with" moments. There is a segment of the population that is incredibly lazy and that feels entitled to do whatever they want. I usually want to push them into swimming pools or hay bailers, but there never seems to be one nearby when the urge strikes. So when I see a UNICAR in the parking lot, I get a rush of glee. Good for you, anonymous pro-active co-worker! Keep fighting the good fight against asshats that think they can park wherever the fuck they want to. Rah rah!

And we'll wrap this post up with my latest weirdness. I am in love with my new shoes - so much that I bought a second pair to let hibernate in the closet until needed (ie - until these wear out). They are Onitsuka Tiger Tai-Chi shoes, which Kill Bill and Bruce Lee fans may recognize. They weren't cheap, but my god are they comfortable. Seriously comfortable. Like... slippers comfortable.

"A round of applause, please, for Anastasia. She loves show-business. So much nicer than the savagery of the jungle, ja?"
..."Hey, tiger! Wake up!"

Today I was the "stand in body" for our photographer to check his lighting. I immediately grabbed a prop. Yes, the Hovitos (fertility) Idol from Raider of the Lost Ark hangs out at work. Doesn't everybody have stuff like this? Heh. In other news, teh new lawn mower is wonderful - it has a nice sharp blade, higher horsepower/torque, and cuts a wider swath of destruction. Good times. Also, the roof is gonna cost around $500 to fix, which is considerably cheaper than a complete new roof, which my brain was dreading. Oh, and I turn 35 on Saturday. So all in all, good times!
