Weddings, meat on swords, the Eastern Shore!
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

We went to a family wedding a few weeks ago - the church was gorgeous!

Gotta love the windows.

Tiny bubbles! The wedding was beautiful.

Ice cold water glasses at the reception, which was also wonderful - great food and great people!

The harbor looked really peaceful that night.

And the Domino Sugar sign is one of our faves.
The next night, Tom and Jane took Lisa and I to Fogo de Chao - HOLY COW it was insane. It's one of those Brazilian restaurants where they serve you 15 different kinds of meat on swords, until you are full. All you can eat meat - what a country!

Ohhh the carnage.

Fried bananas looked pornographic. We were in a meat-induced stupor.

Tom getting some meat! ON A SWORD.

Dirty bananas!!
So this past weekend/week, Lisa and I vacationed at a member of her family's beach property, on the Eastern Shore of MD. No Internet and no AT&T reception (hehe) so I had been offline for four days (sorry if you tried to get in touch with me).
Sunday:

The house is beautiful.

And the yard is too.

There's a game house a short walk away.

Floating pier and a crab trap.

Here's some of the smaller islands... we're going hunting for American Indian arrowheads on Monday.

The main house from the water.

Crabs.

Awaiting their doooooooooom.

"You guys hear something?"

Dum dum dummmmm.

"Hey - a new pot!"

"Hmmm... it's getting warm all of a sudden!"

"aakkkk pbbttthhh! Why are they pouring spices on us?!"
Monday:

Lisa made her famous Enchilisas!

And homemade Guacamole.

The spread!

Lisa's dad was ever vigilant.
Tuesday:

We went walking around the other
places at Family Point.

There was a ridiculous amount of wildlife here, alongside the road!

Fiddler crabs - they scurry into their holes if you get too close. See the giant white claw?

Wetland!

Me! It's sunny!

A Maryland Blue Crab, hiding under a rock from me.

Later in the afternoon we were witness to about a dozen Swallows! They were circling and dive bombing us and the yard.... looking for mosquitos?

Very hard to photograph, and beautiful with their forked tails.

Nrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmm!

Zooooooommmmmmmm.
Wednesday:

So Wednesday was the day we returned home. On the way we took pics of the more interesting things along the sides of the road.

Like the small forest of burned out trees in the middle of the marshy area.

Very otherworldly.

We also stopped at Unicorn Books, so Lisa could browse for gems. I enjoyed the fact that they were sprucing up the sign!

We stopped for lunch at the Easton Airport!

AIRPLANES!!
