It's October already? Oops.

Hi gang. Let's catch up from the rest of September, okay?

I made three Falke models. I'll be updating the Roboterkampf Ma.K. page soon, I hope. SOON!

Also completed another 1/20th Lunadiver!

We had a little bit o' drama on Rosalie when some "non-professional" tree cutters took down a tree (and some power lines). Turns out one of the workers was illegal, or in trouble with the law, and the police got involved.

Here's the tree, three yards over. I was mostly pissed to not have power. Unfortunately, no one was SHOT over this.

I also silver soldered a brass stand together for those three Falkes I mentioned earlier. It came out perfectly!

Coco also spent some time with me (!!)

But as most Coco encounters go, it was fleeting.

I grilled corn on the cob for the very first time.

Lisa canned pickles for the very first time!

We went with the Wynn's to the Maryland State Fair!

Llisa lloved llamas.

Baby ducks.

"What's this up ahead? Food and people?"

It was very overcast that day, but did not rain.

I had my first corn dog. I was not impressed. Maybe it was a crappy corn dog.

What are those small weird things hanging out on the rack?

Deep fried Oreo cookies. Good lord. Delicious.

I LOVED the signage.

And the surreal (at this point wilted) "best in show" food stuffs.

Rides, lemonade, people.

Everyone's favorite oil painting of the day.

Everyone's favorite "HOLY CRAP WHAT IS THAT" art of the day.

Chainsaw sculptor!

Eagle!

Pig!

More pig!

Sheeps of the Round Table!

Huzzah, protect the Holy Grail!

Then, Lisa and I met up with Tom and Jane a few weekend's later for the Harford Road festival. It was literally set up in the blocks in between our houses.

It was a sea of Ravens jerseys.

And my favorite restaurant.

OMG kittens!

A week or two later...

Tom got a Nerf machine gun!

And then it was my birthday!

Lisa won the prize for most hilarious present that I will honestly love.

Simon hung out.

A stink bug made it's appearance that day too, and my mom (visiting for the birthday day) told the story of how she renamed them "volt bugs" to scare me from sticking objects into the wall outlets (which I apparently did).

A few days later....

This fell off our house.

Can you see from which part it fell?

Yep - up there! So today, a roofing company replaced the rotten wood, and we got a new soffit, fascia, gutter, and downspout. A nice chunk of change out of our account, with less than a month from leaving for Tokyo. Hooray for shitty timing! HOORAY!!

Ah well. At least the weather is changing.

This past Friday evening we saw one of the locals (who we named "Gingamon") was on a neighbor's roof.

He's a poser.

And pretty bad-ass.

And now, you are all caught up! Congratulations!

Is it your back? GET THE HELL OFF ME!

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Oh oww fuck fuck fuck. Is it your back?Oh boy is it ever. My back has been twinging for a while now - a culmination of the extra weight, car accidents, and general wear and tear over my 36 years on the planet. Recently I started having pain in my left leg that seemed to directly relate to the back... so I got an MRI and it turns out that I have TWO herniated discs! Hooray for me!

I also have a haunted face in the MRI - cool! So now I go for physical therapy, lose weight, and hopefully avoid surgery.

So we got our gutter problem fixed. Almost a grand out of the house kitty right before an international trip? GAH.

Lisa made pulled pork one weekday.

I took a pic of the sky on the way to the car.

And when we got home, it was all cooked and ready for pullin'

Tom got the office donuts one day, too - GO RAVENS!

Coco and Simon declared a temporary truce to enjoy my heating pad when I was away from the couch.

I made Pickle Chicken!

And under the advisement of my doctor, I got sneakers to aid in my Lumbar rehabilitation. The last time I bought sneakers was in 1994.

I like these - because they are silver and are from outer-fucking-space!

We're off to the MALL tonight with the Wynns! I am on the prowl for new glasses. Yes, I wear bifocals.
