My Models:

Dragonar Kai

Not technically a Maschinen Krieger design, the Dragonar Kai is nevertheless one of Yokoyama-san's well-loved mechs. The scale is 1/48th. For the finished gallery, click here. I have had to guess on some of the placements of parts.

The head was made from styrene and Apoxie Sculpt.

Preiser figure.

Blocking out the diorama.

I ended up not using the tank.

Puttying the flaws.

Clean!

For reasons I cannot remember now, I recreated the donor kit railing with brass.

I filled in some areas that were left exposed on the original.

From the back.

Annnnd from the right.

Hands and arms were made in a way that would make final assembly easy.

From the bottom.

Again, larger voids were filled in with putty, and forms were blended together.

Hey hey, hands and legs!

Detailing added to the rear.

Almost done now.

The figs look good, scale and position-wise.

Boom - magically painted!

Weathered with a thin transparent glaze of Winsor and Newton oil paints.

Ground work is pretty much done, and the "lights' are now in place on the head.

Added a "refuelling" line, and the service ladder. Ladder is way out of scale, sigh.

I love this angle! For the finished gallery, click here.
