Mechanics (Bomvol und Zionel Figure set)

1/20 Kit out of production, from SUS4 System.

I am pleased to offer a review of the Maschinen Krieger Mechanics of Bomvol und Zionel, as apparently sold by SUS4 System, and I believe sculpted by Genzo Ihara of Drunk Dog Works. The figures were purchased off of Yahoo Japan for a horrifying amount of money, but I really wanted them. These are the two "everyman" guys that you see working on Oskars, and who seem to pop up everywhere in the Chronicles books!

So let's start with the package. This is what you get - four pieces of well cast resin and a kraft paper header card.

The poses are excellent, and very life like. I really love that they don't have "superhero" body types. You get a taller thiner guy, and a shorter stout fella. I like to imagine that they are the "good cop/bad cop" experts in the motor pool - the thin guy is cantankerous and grumbles about the abuse that "his" machines endure, and the fat guy is always ready with a joke, no matter how bad the situation may be - just look at how jaunty his stride is. Manwhile 'ol Grumples looks disgusted at that Nutrocker, off-camera.

The faces are very expressive. My guess is that the short guy is thinking about those Mercenary women...

Not pictured (but included) are the right forearm for the short fella, and the mallet for Mr. Grumps.

As always, I expect these to spring to life when painted.
