Imperial All Terrain Armored Transport - version 2
In March of 2005 I was contacted by Master Replicas to provide two Paint Masters for the second Studio Scale model replica ofthe AT-AT Walker.

The decision was made to re-issue the AT-At replica, in a different position and with a snow base/Snowspeeder. Again, time was short, so MR sent two of the V1 AT-AT replicas for me to repaint into the new Paint Masters. I was told to make it VERY filthy...

So I did! Compared to the first version, this was disgustingly dirty.

It was deemed "too dirty" thankfully, so I toned it back from this initial pass.

This was met with a green light, and became the Paint Master. The second AT-AT painted was copied from this approved one.

The snow that I used had a very fine texture, with a fair amount of sparkle and "looseness" to the particles. The final production material was dissapointing - it looked like a thick acrylic medium was "gooped" over the model. It also had a very heavy and predictable stroke to the streaks, and did not match what I did very well. I was disappointed and passed on getting a V2 for myself, but am still proud of the Paint Masters I made as seen here!

As stated above, it's just a repainted V1 AT-AT.

Blast marks were relocated to further differentiate this from the initial AT-AT release.

The legs had really dark streaks and smudges.

I added more "rust" to the mechanical areas on this iteration, thinking that it had been in the field longer (and was dirtier because of it's lengthy stay in the elements).

Care was taken to keep the snow away from area that I imagined were "hot" or in the way of venting gasses.
And that's the story of the V2 AT-AT Walker Paint Master!
