This hobby is incredibly addictive, expensive, rewarding, and social. I have met countless friends worldwide, and have witnessed unbelievable drama. The fury and fervor involved with the "latest and greatest" prop is a sight to behold. Screen-used, forgeries, fan interpretations, and backwards-engineered reproductions are some of the many things you encounter, and the artistry involved (even on the casual hobbyist level) is staggering.

For me the fun is in the building! Discovering new construction or finishing techniques and improving my craft is highly rewarding. I feel lucky to have found a close-knit community of people who will help you out without thinking twice - and they live half-way around the world!
