Colonial Raptor

The 1/24th Raptor was built in the Summer of 2006 from Jesse's kit. For the build diary, click here. This model is featured in issue three of Sci-Fi and Fantasy Modeler!

The model was built with full interior lighting - both LED and EL sheet. The navigation lights blink.

The engine LEDs were offset near the root of the cored engines, which allowed a longer distance for the light to throw, which created a more diffused look against the clear inserts.

The inner screens and buttons were lit bu the EL sheet.

A base was made to house the batteries and activate the lighting. One switch controlled the EL sheet and one controlled the LEDS.

Static Grass was applied to the base, which had been slightly built up with Apoxie Sculpt.
