PKA Ausf G Gustav Released in '84. Kit #5 There is a 1/20th kit available from Nitto. There was a 1/12th Pro-A kit available via the (one day only) 2004 Winter Wonderfest in Japan, making it virtually impossible to get, even for the Japanese. Mr. Yokoyama wrote in HJ magazine, "Emphsized the power in its form", and the design was indeed simple and yet powerful. The original model was made with a fender from a helicopter kit just like P.K.A., and also a fuel tank parts from 1/9 Zendup (a motorbyke kit) was attached to it. The PKA Ausf G was built by the Strahl in response to the Mercenary Force's development of the Super AFS (SAFS), which was superior to the PKA H in armor and firepower. The Gustav's laser arm was backwards engineered from a captured SAFS. This added weight to the design, resulting in the need for reinforcement of the legs, etc. The engine needed to be stronger to propel the heavier suit (and perhaps the higher consumption of power for weapons). With minor modification, the PK.41 Hornisse could house a Gustav, with the designation PK.43. These flew at the end of 2885. |
